Prevent Damage to Connectors during Installation

Taurus recommends the use of a Connector Protector in order to avoid damage to a Lower Connector. Taurus Connector Protectors attach to the production tubing, and are designed to protect the Lower Connector during wellhead installation.

In most ESP Tubing Hanger systems, cable is banded to the production tubing after installation of electrical components and lowered into the well. If the production tubing is lowered off center, there is a real risk of the Lower Connector being damaged if it contacts directly with any of the exposed surfaces of the diameter reductions of the casing head.

Taurus Connector protectors are built with a slip mechanism that insures the Connector avoids contact with casing head walls as it is being lowered. They are also designed to withstand large amounts of compressive force, ensuring no damage during installation and a lengthy field life for the Lower Connector.
